Occaisionally Handstands sends me new products to try out. This happens to be one of the better products that I've seen from Handstands--the Laptop Cooler.

What comes with it:
*The Aluminum Stand with cooling fans
*Two cables--one 2.0 to 2.0 and one 2.0 to Mini-B - I loved that it came with both which really gave me some flexibility in using the ports.
*6 built-in USB ports

Pro's
1. MY LAPTOP DOESN'T GET SUPER HOT ANY MORE!!! The stand is not tall, but adequate enough to allow air to flow under the stand. The height actually still allows for comfortable typing--especially if you have a wrist pad or something of that sort--which I do as I also got a couple wrist mats and pads from Handstands a while back.

2. The fans do the job--taking air from under the laptop, through the fans, and out the back (which is slightly raised.)

This is undoubtedly a good laptop cooler. My processor temps went from hovering around 60 C when I was doing work to a max of 40. I have a few programs open right now and I'm at 38 C. A few things that I didn't like. I feel like the lip for this (the curved edge) should me on the other side. Also, it could stand to be just a smidge lower, but these are really just aesthetic things. It's a great product and I would recommend it to anyone.

Received this item and immediately noticed that the power button does nothing. The fans are always running as long as it's plugged in, whether the switch is on or off. Kinda weird. Additionally, five of the six USB ports just don't work. Maybe mine is a rare dud, I don't know. I basically received an aluminum stand with a USB-switched fan, which is ok considering I only wanted a stand anyway.

It's a little flimsy as well, and the feet are clear plastic which takes away from what could've been a better-looking product (albeit much more expensive). I use it with a 15" Macbook Pro (Core i7) though and it does lift it off the table enough to make a difference in temp. While using XBMC as a test, the temp usually hovers around 170-175. Lifted with the stand it goes down to about 167, and with the fans turned on (which by the way are nearly completely silent, you have to cock your head to make sure they're on), the temp goes down into the high 140s, low 150s.
